Meet Rochelle

Hey Everyone…thanks for stopping in.  I’m a photographer and painter working in California.  The studio has been up and running since 1996. The studio was born with a painting studio/gallery in Carmel, California.   Although painting will always be my first love, photography has become a very close second.   My work has always been interested in people; whether I’m teaching, painting figures or taking pictures, it’s always about how I can make a connection.  My evolution into a portrait and wedding photographer has been purely fate–it’s kind of like my paintings have come to life and I get to recreate the scene over and over.   I’m completely in love with the idea  of connecting with something that isn’t readily seen…something that isn’t predigested.  The view finder on a camera is such an interesting way to view the world.  It isolates moments and makes you pay attention to details that you may not otherwise notice.  Sometimes life just needs a viewfinder.

When I’m not creating something, I’m spending time with my husband of 30 years, my amazing children and my one adorable grandson.  My work takes me all over the world which feeds my unbelievably curious nature.  I am quite pleased and feel overly blessed that my life is exactly where I want it to be.  Look forward to hearing from you…drop me a line.

Rochelle Mort holds a BFA and MA in Art and Design from California State University, Fresno.   She also has a California Secondary Teaching Credential in Art.  Rochelle is the lead photographer and owner of Rochelle Mort Photography.
